Dermal fillers HOW DOES
THE SKIN AGE?
As people get older, the 30 facial muscles attached directly
below the skin surface lose their elasticity, become weaker and
sag over time, either due to gravity, genetics, poor skin care,
sun exposure, poor nutrition, and/or emotion. This makes it more
difficult for the muscles to support the skin covering them
which causes wrinkles, creases, and folds.
The following occurs:
• Decreased circulation. As people age, the number and
size of the capillaries supplying oxygen and other vital
nutrients to the epidermis and dermis decrease which causes the
cells of the skin to gradually begin to atrophy.
• Muscle atrophy. Sagging jowls, hollow cheeks, eye
orbits, double chin and others are all signs of muscle atrophy.
The supportive connective tissue attaching the muscle to skin
breaks down and gravity forces the skin to droop, fold and
wrinkle.
• Expression patterns. Repeated expressions result in a
strengthening and shortening of contractive muscles and a
weakening and stretching of the distended muscles. This forms
wrinkles and creases
• Environment. dark blotches, abnormal growths and cell
abnormalities cause our skin to look older and more worn.
Smoothing out folds and wrinkles by adding volume can make an enormous difference to your appearance. With RESTYLANE, facial rejuvenation can be carried out without the use of foreign elements.
When treating wrinkles or folds, RESTYLANE is injected into the skin in tiny amounts with a very fine needle. The injected gel produces natural volume under the wrinkle, which is lifted up and smoothed out. The results can be seen immediately. Treating wrinkles with RESTYLANE is fast and safe and leaves no scars or other traces on the face.

Anaesthesia
For wrinkle treatments, pain relief is not required by all patients; however, it can be easily arranged at your request.
Duration
A RESTYLANE wrinkle treatment is long-lasting but not permanent. This means that you always have the option to assess your looks. The length of time a treatment maintains its effect is very individual and depends on many factors, such as your age, skin type, life-style and muscle activity, as well as the injection technique. Experience shows that RESTYLANE can be effective for up to one year or more after the treatment of wrinkles. Together with
our doctor, we can draw up a plan for regular future visits to maintain the result. Most patients choose to have a follow-up treatment six to twelve months after the initial treatment of wrinkles.
